Founded by Gerard Rond, Experience Island offers a state-of-the-art outdoor test, trial, and training facility for our mobility solutions, spanning over 50 hectares around a quarry lake. Designed to replicate real-world operational conditions, the terrain presents nearly every off-road challenge imaginable.

our TERRAIN
The site features engineered hills, steep gradients exceeding 60%, diverse surfaces including concrete, rubble, wood, and loose sand, as well as bridges, overpasses, and dense forest trails. Being continuously improved for training, these obstacles push our Defenture platforms to their limits, ensuring optimal performance in extreme conditions.
Elevation: part of the track consist of hills with various surfaces, including bridges and slopes with sleepers, asphalt chunks, concrete slabs, debris and sand.
Wooded section: the densely wooded forest on has closely spaced trees along the course which make it particularly technical. Within this segment, there are also various sloped with deep water basins.
Speed: the track offers two courses, one with a loose sand surface while the other more technical course features a hard, dark, sandy surface with greater variations in elevation.
Small & large lake: for a complete training, the site features a small lake and a large lake with depths ranging from 7 meters to 26 meters which makes it suitable for water training and diving.
effective training
Experience Island reflects the demanding environments faced by commandos and special forces worldwide. Effective training is essential for operators to fully harness their vehicles' capabilities, which is why Dutch and international forces frequently visit the site. By engaging directly with users, we gain valuable insights that drive continuous innovation in our platforms.
