Gerard couldn't believe it when he spoke to one of the highest ranking Dutch military officers in 2012. “Our Special Forces carried out missions in conflict zones with a vehicle originally not designed for these tasks and conditions. Our soldiers, doing the most dangerous work, deserve the best gear to do their job.” The conversation was about the Ministry of Defense search for a suitable vehicle. There was no car built that met all the requirements. Gerard made a promise: “Give me the order and I promise they will get a vehicle that exceeds all expectations”. Defenture was born.
Gerard Rond, former vice-world motocross champion, is the driving force and visionary behind Defenture BV. With his unique background and expertise, Gerard has transformed military mobility needs into advanced platforms, profiling Defenture as an innovative leader in the industry. His passion and experience are the foundation on which Defenture is built and today drives our continued success and innovation.

The philosophy behind the creation of Defenture and the development of our platforms is to get from A to B safely, but much more importantly, to get home again unscathed.
Go safe. For military personnel, one thing is important: safety. That is why our platforms are designed from scratch with a focus on safety, durability, flexibility, efficiency and convenience.
Move safe. All our vehicles are equipped with four-wheel drive and have excellent off-road capabilities in addition to a high payload. They are unprecedentedly agile and suitable for any terrain.
Home safe. Specially designed for operations in extreme conditions, allowing crews to return home safely and via the most unpredictable routes.
